Sexual Health: Comprehensive STD At-Home Test Kit (Anti-HCV, Syphilis, HIV Ag/Ab, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trich, HSV-1 & HSV-2)

$194.00

Getting tested for STDs is one of the most important things you can do for your health. It’s recommended that sexually active females get tested for various sexually transmitted diseases yearly and that anyone who is pregnant be tested for infection in early pregnancy. Our comprehensive panel tests for 7 of the most common STDs.

Please note this kit is suitable for all genders.

Method:

Simple finger prick blood card collection and urine sample

What does it test for?

Anti-HCV, Syphilis, HIV Ag/Ab, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trich, HSV-1 & HSV-2

Anti-HCV: This test is used to find out if someone has ever been infected with the Hepatitis C Virus. Per the CDC, all adults over age 18 and all pregnant women should be screened for Hepatitis C except in settings where the Hepatitis C infection (HCV) positivity is <0.1%.

Syphilis: Untreated, syphilis can cause infertility in women. Later stages of the disease can cause damage to organs and nerves, which can affect the reproductive system. The CDC also recommends all pregnant women are tested in early pregnancy and again at 28 weeks gestation if at high risk.

HIV Ag/Ab: This test provides qualitative detection of HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies as well as HIV-1. Studies have shown that HIV infected women experience reduced pregnancy rates. The CDC recommends all women aged 13-64 be tested and that all pregnant women be screened in early pregnancy and again in the third trimester if at high risk.

Chlamydia: Per the CDC, untreated, about 10-15% of women with chlamydia will develop pelvic inflammatory disease. Chlamydia can also cause fallopian tube infection without any symptoms. PID and “silent” infection in the upper genital tract may cause permanent damage to the fallopian tubes, uterus, and surrounding tissues, which can lead to infertility. Annual testing in sexually active women is recommended and if positive, should retest after three months of treatment.

Gonorrhea: Approximately 820,000 cases of gonorrhea are reported in the US each year. Gonorrhea is a bacterial infection and is often asymptomatic, but can cause pelvic inflammatory disease and scarring and can be passed on to a baby during birth. Annual testing in sexually active people is recommended.

Trichomonas: Trichomoniasis is estimated to be the most prevalent non-viral STI worldwide, affecting approximately 2.6 million persons in the United States. The common vaginal infection caused by Trichomonas vaginalis seems to play a significant role in infertility. Per the CDC, Trich causes reproductive morbidity and has been reported to be associated with a 1.4-times greater likelihood of preterm birth, premature rupture of membranes, and infants who are small for gestational age. It can also lead to an increased risk of cervical cancer.

HSV-1 & HSV-2: This test is used to find out if a person has ever been infected with oral or genital herpes. Nationwide, approximately 12% of people aged 14 to 49 have a form of herpes. There is currently no cure for genital herpes. Per the CDC, some research suggests a genital herpes infection may lead to miscarriage or make it more likely to deliver a baby too early. You can pass herpes to your unborn child before birth, but it more commonly passes during delivery. This can lead to a deadly infection in your baby (called neonatal herpes).

A portion of our revenue from each test will be donated to fertility research and support.
